High School to College

High school to college is an enormous transition. In high school, it is very formatted, they tell you what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. In college, it is all up to. If you would rather go to the H-per center or hang out with friends then thats your choice. Another major difference is attendence. At UNO if you don't want to attend class, you don't have to. I'm really thankful for this opprtunity, bacause it prepares me to resist tempatation and learn time management before i have to learn it first hand.

The UNO campus is very much different than a standard high school. I love it though! Its so much more open and quiet and less crowded! The only thing i prefer about high school is the easy access to close parking! I'll never take advantage of Omaha Bryan's free parking or complain of the "long" walk again!

The class i'm taking, speech: communication in small groups is one of my favorite classes i've ever taken. It also may be the most difficult. The professor is amazing, she never makes the class boring and rarely just lectures, she keeps the entire class involved and i learn so much in this course. The assignment load is pretty large though. We have quizzes two or three times a week and have to read a chapter to prepare for each. So far i've kept up with the work load and have been doing well on the quizzes, and i hope it will continue! :)
