A full ride scholarship is not just a "free education". It is something that must be achieved and kept. It will not only be a large tool to assist to through the duration of your college education. You also achieve a well rounded education as a result of this. Many full ride scholarships require you take extra classes that help you go above and beyond your selected minor. That in turn gives you a more well rounded education.
I want to be a recipient of a full ride scholarship because i feel that it will give me an edge and an advantage over other graduates of my class. The extra classes, community service, and mentoring that generally accompanies a full ride scholarship will teach me life lessons that many other students may not learn until later in life. I aspire to be a teacher and teachers must have a very open, well rounded personality. I feel that the extra work that accompanies a full ride scholarship which will then in turn prepare me to be a better teacher.
Donors should invest in me by providing a full ride scholarship because i feel as if i can handle all that college has to offer, and I've begun to prove that by participating in UNO's Summer Scholars program. I have shown that i can handle it therefore it guarantees that i will be a success and not a "waste of funding." I could very well handle a full class load and any extra work that may accompany a full ride. I am successful at time-management as well as prioritizing all the tasks that i must complete.I would be an excellent canidate for a full ride scholarship.
